We designed a synagogue which is conceived as a sensory journey. Through light, texture, sound and movement, the Chabad House is an invitation to step into a larger narrative that deepens the spiritual journey and social cohesion. The architecture is shaped by a central courtyard that becomes the House of Gathering. The gallery within the courtyard serves as both passage and threshold that connect to the House of Prayer and the House of Study.
The interior space is shaped by natural materials and contemporary finishes that connects visitors to ancient lands and rituals. Lighting reinterprets the tabernacle, and the floors are shaped in repetitive humming patterns that echo the cadence of prayer - subtly guiding the body through space and imprinting memory through movement, rhythm, and touch.
Ongoing project.
